Senior IT Support Engineer

Role Overview

Our clients are looking for a proactive and highly skilled Senior IT Support Engineer to join their Munich team. This hands-on role requires deep expertise across Microsoft technologies, networking infrastructure, and automation. You will be instrumental in supporting end-user devices, managing servers, and leading a full IT infrastructure migration as they establish their new Munich office.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support across Microsoft technologies
• Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server, Azure
• Manage and maintain network infrastructure:
• Routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN setups
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding of users and devices to ensure smooth transitions and compliance
• Set up, configure, and deploy physical and virtual servers
• Lead the end-to-end migration and infrastructure setup for the new Munich office
• Implement and maintain automation solutions, including AI-driven tools to improve efficiency and scalability
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and security
• Collaborate with global IT teams to align standards and share best practices
• Document processes, configurations, and procedures for the internal knowledge base

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a senior IT support or infrastructure engineering role
• Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server, Azure
• Solid understanding of networking principles and hands-on experience with:
• Routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti)
• Experience with server deployment, setup, and migration projects
• Familiarity with automation tools and AI-based deployment strategies
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus

Desirable Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE, Azure Administrator Associate)
• Networking certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+)
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell) and automation platforms
• Familiarity with endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM)
