Overall Role Objectives
- Our clients are building a new data team that plays a critical role in delivering insights to the business and supporting key functions such as data migration and data management. They are looking for a dynamic and skilled Data Architect to join this team, and work with their technology partners and architecture team to play a leading role in the design and implementation of a scalable, future-proof data architecture that integrates seamlessly with their evolving enterprise systems.
- As a data architect you will ensure that data flows efficiently across the organisation, supporting the integration and reporting workstreams, data migration, and long-term data strategy.
- You will ensure the data interoperability between various systems (D365 F&O, CRM, WMS, etc.) Support data migration by defining a structured approach to moving and transforming data. Help to define the technical roadmap, ensuring that data infrastructure supports long-term business goals.
- Work closely with their BI developers and data engineers to create a scalable analytics environment.
- Reporting to the Head of Data you will be integral to delivering the Data strategy that is the catalyst for how their company supports the Data team supports the DX programme and how they will manage and utilise their data to help grow the business. You will play a crucial role in ensuring data is a strategic asset in their digital transformation efforts.
- You’ll provide support coverage when issues occur – acting as 3rd line support to their Service Delivery team providing assistance and/or documentation as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture and Strategy
- Define and implement a scalable data architecture that aligns with business and digital transformation objectives.
- Defining the overall data framework, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and enterprise architecture.
- Designing a flexible data infrastructure that can adapt to evolving business needs and technology advancements.
- Develop and maintain, in collaboration with the Data team, enterprise data models to support reporting, analytics and operational processes. Reverse-engineer data models from live systems.
- Establish standards for Data Integration, storage and management across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Undertake data profiling and source system analysis; present clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role in data driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, database design and data warehousing.
- Expertise in data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
- Experience with Fabric, MS Dataverse, and the Azure Data Platform.
- Experience with MS D365 Finance &Operations, Customer Experience.
- Experience with Data Management including data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data privacy (MS Purview).
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business needs.
- Ability to articulate data analytics practices to stakeholders.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure outputs are correct.
- Ability to upskill team members to proficiency in data architecture and its implications.
- Have a track record of delivering high-quality data solutions on time and on budget, with a keen attention to detail and a focus on being better every day.
- A creative problem solver, you know how to influence stakeholders at all levels to step back, understand the root cause of a problem and develop innovative solutions.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and can effectively convey complex technical and business concepts to stakeholders at all levels.

- Are a ‘doer’ and is not afraid to make decisions and take calculated risks to drive the product forward, ensuring that innovation, execution and business value are balanced.
- You will be used to working to project timescales and using project delivery tools such as Azure DevOps.
- You understand how data should be consumed and structured throughout each level of ingestion and transformation to a presentation layer to deliver business intelligence reporting.
- Confident working with data from an ERP, with experience of working from D365 being beneficial for our project work.
- Experience of data lineage testing to ensure data quality throughout the ETL process and can check their work as they develop.
- Strong collaborative mindset with a willingness to work across various teams.
- Passion for continuous learning and staying on top of new developments in data.
- Proactive, self-driven, and adaptable to change as part of our digital transformation journey.
- Strong academics (university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, and/or equivalent work experience) is desirable.
- Certifications from a recognised body, associated to ToGAF or DAMA would be an advantage.
- Experience in retail, wholesale or logistics industries would be an advantage.
