The Applications Services Manager’s role is to supervise and maintain the organization’s repository of software applications through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. The Business Applications Services Manager will lead and oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of business processes, strong technical expertise, and excellent leadership skills to ensure the successful integration and functionality of our ERP solutions. Is also responsible for planning and coordinating the processes required for the provision of user applications and systems necessary for business operations

 

Responsibilities

  • Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Design, develop, and install application enhancements and upgrades, in collaboration with external partners.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
  • Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Negotiate contracts with software and service providers.
  • Liaise with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
  • Manage and provide direction for the application team in support of business operations.
  • Compile and maintain inventory of company software and systems assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
  • Lead the planning and execution of ERP system implementations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and configure the ERP system to meet business needs.
  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance of ERP systems, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and security.
  • Coordinate and manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, minimizing disruptions to business operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for integrating ERP systems with other business applications.
  • Establish and enforce data management policies and procedures to maintain accurate and consistent data across the organization.
  • Provide training to end-users on ERP system functionality and features.
  • Act as a point of contact for user support, addressing and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize business processes through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with ERP vendors, ensuring timely communication, issue resolution, and adherence to service-level agreements.
  • Build and lead a high-performing ERP team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment to drive team success.

 

Minimum Required Knowledge & Skills

 

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of Information Technology.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and certification will be considered.
  • ITIL Foundation Certified, technical certifications in SQL, BI and experience in ERP are a plus.
  • Knowledge & Experience
  • 5-10 years direct experience managing applications and/or systems management.
  • Proven experience (5-10 years) in ERP system implementation, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP modules such as Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, etc.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
