Role Overview
The Architect Director (France) is a senior leadership role covering the Commerce & Partnerships domain, with responsibility for all digital acquisition activities. The position is closely aligned with enterprise architecture, digital strategy, and customer acquisition, and plays a critical role in shaping the company’s global digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Define, develop, and deliver the Transformation Strategic Plan for Commerce & Partnerships, ensuring alignment with the digital leadership (local and global CIOs, CDO, CDIO) and key business stakeholders.
- Lead the execution of the transformation programme across global delivery teams, including oversight of initiatives within the domain and the decommissioning of obsolete or redundant assets.
- Actively contribute as a permanent member of the Architecture Executive Committee and Design Authority, driving digital strategy, architectural principles, and governance.

- Accelerated Digital Experience Transformation
- Strategic partnerships and new capabilities (eMSP, connected cars)
- Rationalisation of fragmented digital experiences
- Design the future operating model from inception, ensuring alignment with client objectives and business targets.
- Assess the current-state architecture across multiple countries and define the future-state transformation roadmap.
- Identify required digital capabilities and enabling technologies.
- Evaluate existing solutions to determine retention, replacement, or decommissioning.
- Define back-office integration points and implement solutions enabling real-time quotation capabilities.
- Ensure best-in-class customer experience through a strong understanding of marketing, digital platforms, and end-to-end user journeys.
- Team Leadership & Governance
- Own and lead all architects within the Commerce & Partnerships domain (four architects in total).
- Manage a geographically distributed team located in the UK, India, and the Netherlands.
- Guide and validate all initiatives under the global architectural governance framework.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Enterprise Architecture, IS strategy, or equivalent senior leadership roles.
- Strong command of enterprise architecture methodologies and best practices.
- Solid expertise in eCommerce, digital marketing, and process optimisation.
- Proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies that drive growth and innovation.
- Demonstrated experience leading distributed teams and navigating complex organisational structures.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Be a visionary leader capable of building and managing high-performing architecture teams within complex, distributed organisations.
- Possess deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, IS strategy, and process optimisation.
- Demonstrate strong awareness of modern digital technologies and trends, including AI, cloud, DevOps, marketing automation, and eCommerce.
- Exhibit excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills across diverse functions and geographies.
- Be business-oriented and analytical, able to translate complex technology strategies into tangible business value.
- Have proven experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes and digital initiatives in high-impact environments.
