Role Overview
Our clients are seeking a hands-on Senior Infrastructure Contractor to lead and execute a comprehensive upgrade and migration project across their on-premise environment. This is a delivery-focused role for someone who thrives on taking ownership, assessing current infrastructure, planning solutions, and executing them efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Windows 11 Upgrade
- Assess current hardware (laptops, desktops, servers)
- Identify upgrade requirements for ~50 users
- Develop and execute a rollout plan
- Virtualization & Infrastructure
- Review and upgrade VMware and Citrix environments
- Plan and implement migration strategies
- Systems & Services
- Audit and upgrade Active Directory, Access, SCCM, and other core services
- Ensure compatibility and performance across all systems
- Technical Support
- Provide hands-on end-user support and troubleshooting
- Act as a technical escalation point during the upgrade process
- Reporting
- Report directly to the Head of Infrastructure
- Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and mitigation plans
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in on-premise infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of Windows environments, virtualization (VMware/Citrix), AD, SCCM
- Self-starter with excellent planning and execution skills
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable with hands-on technical support and troubleshooting
- EU-based and willing to relocate near the site if needed
- Language Requirement: Must speak English fluently
