Chief Information Officer (CIO)

 

The Chief Information Officer will serve as the strategic technology leader for a global organisation of over 4,000 employees, scaling to 6,000 across the UK, US, and international markets. This role is accountable for defining and executing the enterprise technology vision, ensuring that all technology investments, infrastructure, and digital capabilities enable business growth, operational excellence, and competitive advantage.

 

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CIO will drive digital transformation initiatives, establish robust technology foundations through Enterprise Architecture, and accelerate the adoption of AI-driven processes across the business. The position requires balancing strategic innovation with operational stability to ensure technology serves as a powerful enabler of the organisation’s growth agenda.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and growth ambitions.
  • Lead global technology consolidation, standardisation, and governance frameworks to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Oversee IT portfolio and budgets, optimising technology investments for value creation and profitability.
  • Drive integration of AI capabilities across the enterprise while maintaining governance, ethics, and risk management.
  • Build and lead a world-class IT, technology, and security team responsible for:
    • Security architecture, compliance, and risk frameworks.
    • Threat monitoring, incident response, and identity management.
    • Compliance with ISO, SOC, GDPR standards.
    • Design and continuous improvement of core business systems (CRM, ERP, HRIS, etc.).
    • Infrastructure services including networks, cloud platforms, and data centres.
    • End-user services and workplace productivity tools.
    • Data strategy, architecture, governance, and enterprise data warehouse.

 

Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading IT and technology transformation in a complex, global, software-centric organisation.
  • Experience scaling systems and infrastructure to support high growth across multiple geographies; private equity experience preferred.
  • Strong background in enterprise applications, data strategy, cybersecurity, and infrastructure modernisation.
  • Demonstrated success in platform consolidation and integration within acquisitive or multi-entity environments.
  • Financially literate with experience managing multi-million-dollar technology budgets.
