Job Description
- Creating and leading the process of integrating IT systems for it to meet the requirements of an organisation
- Conducting system architecture evaluation and collaborating with project management and IT development team to improve the architecture
- Evaluating project constrains to find alternatives, alleviate risks, and perform re-engineering if required
- Providing supervision and guidance to development teams
- Continually researching the current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed
- Informing various stakeholders about any issues with the current technical solutions being implemented
- Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have
- Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs and budgets
To be a successful solution architect, you need to have
- Proven work experience as a solution architect or similar role
- Previous project management experience is advantageous
- In-depth understanding of coding languages
- Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases
- Efficient communication skills
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science is preferred
