Lead Cloud Azure Architect

About the Role:

We’re seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Azure Architect to drive the modernization and scalability of our flagship Azure-hosted Payroll solution. This platform is a cornerstone of our clients transformation strategy to consolidate legacy systems and migrate their customer base to the cloud. As the domain architect for Payroll and Human Capital Management (HCM), you will play a pivotal role in shaping our future architecture and leading a team of architects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Platform Optimization: In the initial six months, focus on optimizing our existing platform, ensuring stability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Scalability and Architecture: Develop a roadmap for scaling the platform with a focus on an event-driven, microservices-based architecture that aligns with our five-year growth strategy.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as a technical authority, guiding application development, design patterns, and best practices across the technology stack (front-end, back-end, database).
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure Strategy: Shape the platform’s cloud infrastructure to support horizontal scaling and evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to drive the technical direction and modernize existing applications.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Cloud Expertise: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Azure SQL, and Azure Functions.
  • Kubernetes: Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes, with a focus on deployment and scaling in cloud environments.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Proficient in designing and implementing event-driven architectures and microservices.
  • Application Development: Strong experience in application development and design patterns, covering front-end, back-end, and database layers.
  • Technical Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team, influence architectural decisions, and work cross-functionally.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to envision and plan for the scale and complexity required in the next 5 years.
